Steel Storage was contracted to design and construct a four level self-storage facility located on busy Stock Road, O’Connor. The site posed numerous issues included limited site access during construction and difficult ground conditions. Good design and considered methodology maximized the site utilization and delivered an exceptional result.

The facility has one entry / exit located off McNeece Place where customers have easy access to the large undercover loading/unloading dock and a modern office and display area. The facility has as fully reticulate sprinkler system throughout and is secured by a PTI access control system. Two high speed lifts are located within the loading dock area. There are five pin operated motorized roller doors that give entry to the lifts and a further two pin operated sliding doors giving access to the ground floor units. Access via the lifts to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors can only be achieved using a personal pin code to the level on which the customers unit is located. All individual units are alarmed. The access system and lighting circuits are integrated to ensure safe passage to units and save operating costs. There are several levels of security depending whether access is during or after operating hours.
